A Great Tasting Child Tea
Party Recipe

kidsteaparty

Here is a delicious child tea party recipe you may like. This one is fun to make. The kids can help, learn and have fun at the same time.

My niece loves to help with the rolling of the dough.

My nephew likes to beat the eggs (though most wind up either on the floor or with bits of egg shell in the mix). A lot of time is spent getting those bits of egg shell out but it is fun.

Sometimes they make animal shapes with the butter or with the flour. There are times when I wonder if we will every get the baking done:)

It is fun for them and gives us time to bond.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 pound butter(room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening(room temperature)
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons lemon extract
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup water
