A Classic English Tea Set - The
Sweetest Gift

Big Ben

The English tea set to me brings a certain charm.

When I was a little girl, I read and really wanted a secret garden like in the storybook of the same name.

I imagined holding tea parties there with dolls and teddy bears.

Now as I look for a gift for my nieces who love tea parties, I thought why not get one for them?

A set can be purchased for a variety of prices from inexpensive to the expensive.

Depending on the age of the child a real set may be a good idea. With a real tea set of her own she can invite and serve friends. Perhaps tea, lemonade or hot cocoa will be in her teapot.

She may set up her tea set on a white wicker table and chair set in her grandmother's flower garden.

Or use it on a cardboard box turned upside down and covered with a handkerchief instead of a tablecloth. It really won't matter.

The important thing is that this set will be the catalyst for imaginative escapades. These memories that will last a lifetime for her.

Hopefully she will remember who gave it to her also with fond memories (in this case me, her Aunt)!

If the tea set manages to survive a child's youth and use, or if even a few pieces do, they will become a treasured possession to be displayed in her home as an adult.

Perhaps she will even use the remaining pieces to have a tea party with her own child someday.
