Why Use Green Tea Teapots?
Do you need a specific green tea teapot to brew your green tea leaves? Some say yes.
As I was shopping around and found an interesting option for brewing tea.
- It is the utiliTEA kettle. This kettle has temperature control settings which are perfect for green tea users.
- The setting allows you to brew your tea to the temperature desired and enjoy a consistent flavor every time.
I think it is good for those new to green tea and may not be sure how long to brew or prepare this tea.
- Another option is a teapot called the Kyusu. The origin is Japanese and they are usually made of ceramic.
They come in a variety of styles. It is said that using ceramic makes the tea taste better.
Strainer Types
If using loose tea then you will need a strainer to make your tea. Green tea leaves are made with very fine particles which provides the wonderful taste.
These tea-leaves are small and they require more room to expand than other leaves.
You will find that many tea pots have a strainer that fits inside it. This helps prevent tea leaves from getting into the cup.
The strainers are usually made from stainless steel. They should have very small holes or an attached filter inside of the strainer.
You may find the strainers built in and removable as well. The built in strainer allows all of your green tea leaves to remain inside the strainer.
However a removable strainer will provide the same effect and also has the benefit of easy cleaning.
