Herbal Tea Recipes

YellowTeaPot

Herbal tea recipes have been around for many years. They are thought to have an array of diverse and powerful healing properties.

Many people like ginger tea to alleviate respiratory problems. This popular herbal tea can also be easily made in your kitchen with only a handful of ingredients.

All that you need to make ginger tea is:

1. A saucepan full of cold water

2. A few pieces of fresh ginger root, peeled and chopped

3. A couple of lemon wedges

4. A bit of raw honey

Begin by bringing the water to a rolling boil, then add the ginger root and reduce heat. Allow the brew to simmer, covered, steeping for about 15 minutes.

By then the air should be filled with a tangy herbal aroma. Remove saucepan from heat. Season to your liking with honey and lemon wedges.

The varieties of herbal tea out there are practically endless. If you are looking for a tea a little less spicy, chamomile tea can also be brewed easily at home. This tea is known for its potential relaxing quality.

To make chamomile tea you will need:

1. Sauce pan full of cold water

2. About 1 cup of dried chamomile

3. Around 1/4 cup dried lemon grass

4. Zest from one lemon

5. A few more lemon wedges

6. Some more honey

Once again, bring water to a boil. Add chamomile, lemon grass and lemon zest and reduce heat to a simmer, covering the saucepan.

Within ten to fifteen minutes you will smell the soothing scent given off from the brew and you will know it has steeped. Add honey and lemon to your taste.

As you have seen, the recipes are often also quick and easy to prepare yourself using fresh ingredients.
