You might want to look at this scone recipe. Scones are a major party of afternoon tea and are loved by many. That and the clotted cream I can dream about. As a tremendous fan myself, they are an integral part of having high tea. For me, it would not be the same without scones. Ingredients1 and 1/2 pounds of all purpose flour 4 ounces sugar (have extra on hand for the topping of the scones) 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/3 tablespoon salt 9 ounces butter (cut into small cubes) 1/2 pound currants 1 and 1/5 cups buttermilk 3/4 teaspoon baking soda Cream (for coating top of scones)Directions1. Turn the oven on to 325 degree Fahrenheit and let preheat. 2. The flour, baking powder, salt, currants, baking soda will need to be sifted at least three time. 3. Get your mixer out and put your ingredients into its bowl. 4. The butter is added to the bowel and using mix until completely distributed into the mix. 5. Next the currants should be added following with the buttermilk. 6. You will then mix until dough forms and roll it to a 1 inch thickness. 7. Using your hands or cookie cutter, shape as desired. 8. Brush on the cream and sprinkle on sugar to your taste. 9. It will take approximately 15 minutes to bake. Check for it to be lightly golden. Serve and Enjoy!
