What Is A Tea Press?

high tea

A tea press is a device to help you brew tea using loose leaves. Most countries that are large consumers of tea use loose tea. Probably more than we do here in the United States.

You get more variety in teas though when using the loose teas. This also enables you to blend unique combinations of loose tea together to see what flavor you get.

You can always just brew your loose tea floating freely in your cup.

Many people though do not like having to drink their tea through the tea leaves. This is where the tea press comes in handy.

You can brew the loose tea and then press the leaves down to the bottom. In this way you get tea with no leaves at all in it to drink.

Easy To Use

They are easy to use. Just set one on the counter and place what loose tea you are using in it in the right amounts.

Then add boiling water to it. Let the tea brew long enough to reach the strength of tea you most enjoy.

Now it is time to press the leaves to the bottom so you can pour out tea free of pieces of tea.

Press Types

You will find a variety of presses out there on the market today. Just find one that suits your tea-drinking habits.

Some are cylindrical while others look like tea pots. Most are made from glass. You can find other materials too that they are made in.

Some people do not like the tea leaves removed from the tea. This is because that is how tea is enjoyed in their countries.

Tea Leaves Some History

In the United States we usually do not like tea leaves being in our tea that we drink.

We even love our ice tea in certain parts of the country.

So tea drinking habits just depend on where you are at the time you are drinking.

The Chinese have certain rituals and ceremonies surrounding tea as do the Japanese.

The British are quite fond of their High Tea.

Since tea is over 5,000 years old as a beverage you are not just drinking it. You are participating in the future history of it.

So if using this device and it can help you enjoy your cup of tea more by all means use one.

Remember that with using the loose tea you can experience more varieties than just with the tea bags.

Get yourself a tea press and some loose tea today. Experiment with the various types of tea and come up with your own special blends.

Here is wishing a happy tea time to you.
