Tasteful Tea Sandwiches

Looking for a tasty recipe for tea sandwiches?

I was thinking of what to use to for these sandwiches. Of course my aim is to cater to the tastes of my guests.

I decided on this version. The kids and adults all tend to like this one.

You will need to assemble the following ingredients:

12 slices white bread (or your favorite bread)

    1/4 cup mayonnaise

    1/4 head lettuce, shredded

    1 tomato, very thinly sliced

    4 slices ham

    4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

    1/2 cucumber, very thinly sliced

    4 slices turkey

4 slices Muenster cheese (sometimes I use yellow cheese)

Directions

1. Put mayonnaise, ham, lettuce and tomato on a piece of bread.

2. Take another slice of bread with mayo and place faced down on top on tomato.

3. Put butter on top of this bread and then place, cucumber, slice of turkey, slice of Muenster cheese.

4. Butter another slice of bread and place butter side down on top of cheese.

5. Repeat to make 3 more sandwiches.

6. Serve and Enjoy!

Alternatives

I usually will also make tiny peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the kids. This is good to have as a stand by for picky eaters. There is also nothing wrong with using plain bread and butter sandwiches which the kids like.

Try cutting the bread into shapes with a cookie cutter for the kids. At the holidays I use a tree cookie cutter, or a pumpkin one for Halloween. Usually whatever is handy to make the kids smile.

I want tea time to be fun for all!
