The stork is coming!! The stork is coming!! Are you thinking about throwing a baby shower tea party for this special event?
If so, here are some things to keep in mind.
Selecting Invitations
The first thing that you need to do in preparation for throwing your shower is to select the perfect invitation.
It will set the tone for what guests can expect from your event.
When choosing your invitation you have a couple of different ways that you can go.
You can either purchase:
- Pre-made invitations (usually can find reasonably priced)
- Make your own invitations (if you have the skill the personalized touch is awesome.
- Have custom invitations made for your event (can be expensive)
Choosing An Invitation
When picking invitations for your party try to tie in some theme related elements.
1. Look for an invitation that has a tea related theme.
2. Does the mom-to-be like a certain teddy bear or plan to decorate the nursery with a teddy bear design?
3. Perhaps choose an invitation that features teddy bears at a tea party. Also, you can frame it and give it to the mom as a memento and to hang in the nursery.
Planning Your Party
Once you have your invitations in the mail you can begin to plan your actual event. Now you will need supplies to serve tea.
- If you have a beautiful tea set, great! If you don't try looking through your local thrift stores for mismatched teapots, cups, and saucers.
- Purchase some of those and create your own shabby chic set.
- Serve the future mom her favorite food in bite size portions.
I have started to do this and find I enjoy picking different styles and setting the table with them.
