Green tea health benefit has long been an Eastern belief.

One potential benefit is it may help in increasing short term memory.

I perked up and thought I have to read more on this. I cannot find my keys when they are right in front of me:)

What Western Science is Saying:

Western science is studying and confirming the benefits. It is said to be able or have the potential to:

  • Help heal many illnesses.
  • Potential to help the body be more capable of fighting off cancer.
  • Lower cholesterol and help increase a person’s metabolism.

Green tea has catechin, which are responsible for the strong antioxidants that help strengthen the human immune system. It may also help to relieve both anxiety and depression, as well as increase short term memory.

Catechin Facts

  • Catechins have antioxidant properties and this adds to the health benefits of green tea as well as the other varieties.
  • Catachins comprise up to 30% of the dry weight of a tea leaf. Their concentration is highest in green tea and least in black.
