Unique Royal Albert Tea Cups

Royal Dog

The Royal Albert tea cups collection is distinctive and very unique. I think the entire collection is fantastic.

I was truly stunned by the beauty and individuality of these cups along with the saucers, plates, cream and sugar tray and much more.

There is intricate detail and design yet it is made of high quality durable bone china.

This has helped with its long history. These pieces can be used for years and still look beautiful.

A Little History

The history of the collection covers 100 years which began in 1896 at a factory in Longton, Stoke-on-Trents, England.

Thomas Clarke Wild purchased the factory. Soon after work began on pieces for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubille celebration in 1897. It has been associated with royalty ever since.

The collection has ten distinctive patterns and signature. The designs are based on the traditional English garden.

Old Country Roses (1962)

Is the most famous with its cluster of roses pattern.

Other patterns that must be seen to be truly appreciated are:

Regency Blue (1900)

Maroon floral theme

Duchess (1910)

Traditional floral design, yellow and lilac roses and blue blooms

Spring Meadow (1920)

Primroses, roses, violet, harebells and forget-me-nots

Polka Rose (1930)

Single Pink rose design and white polka dots

BigBenLondon

English Chintz (1940)

Roses, violets, lilac and for-get-me nots

Festival (1950)

Blue harebells, daffodils and snowdrops

Golden Rose (1960)

Rose design with a pink background

Poppy (1970)

Bright coral orange and yellow poppies

Holyrood (1980)

Formal pattern with burgundy and gold border with white background

Hartington Lane (1990)

Lilac florals on a soft lilac background

Collect one or all. How about giving one piece as a gift to the person who loves and collects these cups. It will help start or build their collection.
